Details Of Memorial Service For Soldiers Who Died Alongside General Francis Ogolla


The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has launched particulars concerning memorial providers and burials for the troopers who died alongside Normal Francis Ogolla in a latest helicopter crash.

On April 18th, a KDF Huey UH-1 helicopter (tail no. KAF 1501) tragically crashed close to Sindar, Kaben in Elgeyo Marakwet County. Ten troopers misplaced their lives within the accident.

“The KDF is working intently with the households of the deceased to rearrange these providers,” a KDF assertion confirmed. “Army protocols and honors can be noticed whereas respecting the needs of the fallen and their households.”

A number of troopers have already been laid to relaxation, together with Normal Ogolla, Brigadier Saidi, and Captain Sora. The remaining burials and a memorial service are scheduled as follows:

  • KDF Memorial Service: A requiem mass can be held at Moi Air Base, Eastleigh, Nairobi County on Wednesday, April twenty fourth, 2024.
  • Sergeant Rose Nyawira: Burial will happen on Thursday, April twenty fifth, 2024, in Kagio Village, Kirinyaga County. Sergeant Nyawira served as a KDF photographer.
  • Senior Sergeant John Mureithi: Burial will happen on Friday, April twenty sixth, 2024, in Kirimunge Village, Kanyeki Location, Kirinyaga County. Senior Sergeant Mureithi was an air technician at Moi Air Base.
  • Colonel Duncan Keitany: Burial will happen on Saturday, April twenty seventh, 2024, in Saos Village, Eldama Ravine, Baringo County. Colonel Keitany served as Colonel of Operations on the Defence Headquarters.
  • Main George Magondu: Burial will happen on Saturday, April twenty seventh, 2024, in Karemeno Village, Kieni Constituency, Nyeri County. Main Magondu served as a pilot at Moi Air Base.

The KDF gives its heartfelt condolences to the households of the fallen troopers.
