Boost to Raila as Eastern Africa to produce AUC chairman in landmark decision in Addis Ababa

After a day-long-closed-door assembly, the AU Government Council unaniomously resolved that the Japanese Africa area produce the subsequent chair, with Northern Africa getting the deputy chair place.

Central, Southern and Western areas will compete for the six positions of commissioners.

Raila secures key endorsements

Mudavadi actively lobbied for the adoption of the choice through the session of the AU Government Council and has been on the frontline alongside President William Ruto, backing the opposition chief.

The choice can also be aligned with the Statute of the AU Fee, the Guidelines of Process of the African Union coverage organs and the selections of the Meeting of Heads of State and Authorities.

The stage is now set for Odinga to battle it out with candidates fronted by different international locations within the Japanese area.

Backed by the state, Odinga has secured the help of plenty of African presidents.
